We provide creative CPD and Inset for schools and teachers.

At The English team, We believe that children need sustained and exciting learning opportunities in order to raise attainment in literacy and raise standards across the English curriculum. Furthermore, we promote creative and meaningful cross-curricular planning in line with current government initiatives.

With strong backgrounds in management, English, literacy and drama we can provide in-service training and classroom support for teachers.

We offer a valuable service to schools, supporting school self-evaluation staff development and target setting for personalised learning.

Services include:

INSET and support for staff from Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, in developing English approaches and literacy skills; we offer support in drama for all stages up to and including A level Drama or Theatre Studies

analysis of pupils needs in targeted aspects of English and advice on ways forward for a Key Stage, Year group class or individual teachers;

support for teacher-led investigations into teaching and learning;

training, in-class support, drama workshops, INSET days and/or staff meetings to raise awareness of specific issues within a school and move staff forward.

Our 'products' include:

Play-talk-think-write® boxes aimed at 4-13-year-olds;

Targets for individual children and/or customised planning for specified year groups or classes, based on analysis of needs;

off-the-peg unit planning (usually as a four-week block) for specific year groups, including structured play or drama and skills sessions where appropriate;

INSET and support in using any of our products effectively.
